Pakistani Americans Meet with Congressman Gary Peters
The Council on Pakistan Relations recently met with Congressman Gary Peters (D-MI) in Washington DC, to discuss U.S-Pakistan relations, CPR’s objectives for 2010, the importance of including the Pakistani American community in Washington’s decision making process and the need to ensure that U.S. foreign assistance to Pakistan is targeted and wisely spent. Dr. Rajiv Shah: Good afternoon. Thank you for coming.
This is my first trip to Pakistan as the Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development. Before I start with a few brief introductory remarks, I’d like to offer my condolences to the families of the Pakistani security personnel who were killed and those also injured during last Monday’s attack on the U.S. Consulate in Peshawar. Congressman Schauer Joins The Congressional Pakistan Caucus
(Washington, D.C. 4/19/2010) — Council on Pakistan Relations recently met Congressman Mark Schauer (D-MI) in Washington DC to discuss its key priorities including, regional US approach to South Asia, re-invigorating Pakistan Congressional Caucus, and ensuring that US economic assistance to Pakistan under Kerry/Lugar initiative is wisely spent. Release: CPR Hosts Event for Congressman Burton
On March 28, the Council on Pakistan Relations hosted a successful event for Congressman Dan Burton. The event was well attended by diverse and active members of Pakistani American community.
