The Council on Pakistan Relations (CPR) is an independent, self-sustaining organization that strives to be an effective advocate for its causes and agenda.
The CPR seeks to be the most recognized resource for foreign policy issues related to Pakistan, and embraces new technology and new media to create an innovative and energetic lobbying presence.
The CPR will be an enduring organization for all U.S. citizens who are interested in a brighter future and better relations between America and Pakistan.
Programs and Projects:
The Council on Pakistan Relations (CPR) conducts a variety of programs, projects and activities, including:
* Capitol Hill Days: CPR hosts regular occasions for citizens to meet with elected representatives in the U.S. Congress. “Citizen lobbyists” help to share ideas and concerns about U.S. policy toward Pakistan.
* Congressional Briefings: CPR serves as a resource for the U.S. Congress, briefing representatives and their staffs on issues affecting relations with Pakistan.
* Advocacy Training: CPR provides training and insights for Pakistan-Americans and friends of Pakistan who wish to help make an impact on U.S. foreign policy.
* Research: CPR conducts original ongoing research on the status of Pakistan and related issues, and crafts policy recommendations based on that research.
* News and Information: CPR publishes congressional testimony, position papers, news releases, fact sheets, and newsletters related to the issues affecting Pakistan and American relations.
* Education on Pakistan: The CPR presents seminars and forums to educate the public and promote conversation about Pakistan, Pakistani culture, and U.S. relations with Pakistan.
* Social Activities: The CPR is a resource to help create connections among the Pakistani-American community and other Americans who have an interest in Pakistan and its culture.
